Flat, dark-green leaves are deeply cut and have a rich parsley flavour that is great for cooking or in salads. Plants are sturdy with stiff, upright stems. Parsley is a biennial plant that forms a long (edible) tap root. Choose deep pots for container growing. It makes a very good companion plant if it is allowed to bloom in the second year of growth. As a member of the Apiacea family, its umbelliferous flowers are highly attractive to beneficial insects.
